Strawberry champagne jello shots

Summer is the time for soirées, but a soirée isn’t a soiree without champagne – it’s pretty much just a meeting, and you can quote me on that. But if you really want to wow your guests you’ve got to take your bubbly up a notch with these champagne Jell-O shots. The entire process was very experimental and the first batch I made wasn’t necessarily sweet, which is why the strawberries came into play. I can confidently say that this is the best boozy dessert that I’ve ever had.

If you’re looking to host a party this summer and get your guests turnt up without having to serve gallons of alcohol, then this recipe is for you. Read on for more!

what you need:

  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 packets flavorless jello (the Knox brand)
  • 3 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 1 cup of cold champagne
  • Edible gold leaf
  • mold (like an ice cube tray – I personally used this one)

the how to:

step one: for your cup of water into a sauce pan. Pour the Jell-O powder over it and let it sit for five minutes to absorb. When it’s fully softened/absorbed the surface of the water will look wrinkled.

step two: stir in the sugar or honey and place over medium heat, while stirring continuously. Do not allow to boil.

step three: allow mixture to cool down for 5 to 10 minutes then add 1 cup champagne and stir.

step four: pour the jello mixture into the mold and add some strawberry slices and crumbles of edible gold leaf.

step five: allow to set in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

You probably thought these were really complicated to make when you saw the title, huh? Well it’s all super easy and you can make really large batches with minimal effort. If you have no molds to make your shots in, try making your jello in a brownie pan, and then cutting it into smaller pieces after.

I hope you all get to try it too. Champagne jello shots for president 2016!
