Pressed Flower Frame

pressed flower frame

I love flowers, except when they do what they’re supposed to do – die. Isn’t that just the worst? So this year I decided to make the roses I got for Valentine’s Day last forever, with a simple DIY pressed flower frame. Read on for how to do it yourself!

What you’ll need:

  • Flowers of your choice
  • 2 paper towel sheets
  • Floating picture frame (this is what I used from Amazon)
  • Chalk marker

The How-To:
step one: Pull petals from your bouquet and place them flat between 2 paper towels. You can also use whole flowers, but make sure they are small or they won’t flatten completely

step two: Place the paper towels with flowers in the center of a heavy book, and place heavy object on the book to press the flowers (the heavier the better). You’ll need to leave it to do it’s magic for about 12 hours.

step three: After flowers have been pressed, place them between the two pieces of glass of your floating frame, and assemble the frame

step four: Use the chalk marker to write any quote of your choosing on the front of the frame. This can be a special date, names, whatever! Get creative.

Easy as step 1, 2, 3, and you’re done! I might add on some other smaller flowers/petals or even some greenery in the future, but I like how my frame is looking now. Remember, you don’t have to use roses – using a variety of flowers will be equally as gorgeous.

I hope you enjoy making your own pressed flower frame!
