The Grace Project

“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”

— John 1:16 (ESV)

What is The Grace Project?

The Grace project is a movement to inspire women all over the world to share their stories of Grace and what it means to them. It is a sisterhood. It is a fellowship. We believe that there is strength in sharing and we want to begin a larger conversation about what it means to live grace. We love sisterhood. The Grace Project encourages authentic and intentional living, not bound by any of the standards of society. Like we love to say, live free!

How did it begin?

This little ol’ movement began with a t-shirt and conversations between friends. We didn’t think that the shirt that said ‘grace upon grace’ would be something so many people would want, simply because it had great meaning to them. Each person in their own way, had come to know grace personally and could tell many stories of what grace meant to them. The conversations were honest and deep, and we wanted to share that feeling with as many other women as possible.

How can I be a part of the project?

Great question! We would LOVE to have you on board. So many women have shared their personal stories and thoughts, and you can be one of them. You never know who desperately needs to hear what you have to say.

There are a few ways to share your story. You can join the social media challenge and share your #graceselfie with your story in the caption. If your page is private, or you have a longer story, you can email us at thegraceproject@essiedoessummer.com to submit yours. Read more instructions here.

Finally, you can take it to the streets! Spread the message of living Grace in your friend group, church, school, work…ANYWHERE! Grace has no boundaries. We are more than happy to provide you with any resource materials you think you may need to do this. Got any questions about this? Shoot us an email!

I need a t-shirt, stat!

Interest in the shirts has been so overwhelming and we are excited to finally release them for sale! They will officially be available for purchase on Sunday Feb. 28th. Before release day, you can enter a contest to win a shirt (Enter below!). Purchase your Grace Upon Grace shirts here.

Now the best part: For every shirt you buy, $2 dollars will be donated to underprivileged students in all-girls’ boarding schools in Ghana, West Africa. Your contribution will help get them school supplies, and provide them with financial support. You will also be helping to spread the word about grace to them, and encouraging them as they grow.

What a beautiful concept! It’s interesting how a tee shirt can spark such a meaningful conversation. I love that you are generating conversation about grace, especially when so many people need it!
